I became interested in Christian Science about ten years ago. I was indeed very much like the woman spoken of in the New Testament who "had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse." I most gratefully bear testimony to many physical healings through Christian Science.
I had suffered for nineteen years with scrofula glands of the neck. About once a year these glands would become enlarged and inflamed. They were more painful than boils. The surgeon's knife was used twenty times. Several well-known specialists had told me I was beyond all help.
It was while I was taking treatment from a physician in a distant city, who told me that he could not cure me, that I learned of Christian Science. His wife was a Christian Scientist, and she said that her husband could not heal me but God could. Then she told me of this Science and what it had done for her. It had healed her of a tumor after all medical aid had failed. She told me so many beautiful things about God and Christian Science that I became interested right away. I never doubted her once. I came home and went to a practitioner and asked for help. In a short time I was completely healed of the gland trouble. I was also able, through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, to lay aside glasses which I had worn for twenty years.
