Last winter my mother, who is in her eighty-third year,...

Last winter my mother, who is in her eighty-third year, broke her leg. My sister was with her at the time and whispered to her of the spiritual man, who never experiences dislocation or breakage. She was gently carried into a doctor's office where the leg was X-rayed, and the doctor was greatly surprised to find the bone perfectly set. However, he made many laws as to age, shock, and length of time in bed.

I was called to my sister's home as a nurse, and witnessed the healing of the broken leg by complete reliance on God as taught in Christian Science. No cast, splints, or bandages were used. Shock disappeared at once. Pain disappeared entirely the third day. After three weeks my mother was able to move all over the bed. The sixth week she sat up in her chair; the seventh she walked; and after a period of ten weeks she went up and down stairs with only a cane. During this time she ate well, slept peacefully, and all organs functioned naturally.

I am deeply grateful to God, and to Mary Baker Eddy for giving this practical religion to the world. My life must attest my gratitude.
