It is with a heart filled with gratitude for the understanding of God gained in Christian Science that I write this testimony. When Christian Science was first presented to me I was a very sick woman, having undergone four operations for internal cancer. For two years I had not slept, except under the influence of drugs; and even these had practically lost their seeming power. The doctors admitted that they could do no more for me, and gave me only a few weeks to live. Thanks be to God! I was plucked from the verge of the grave. Christian Science came to me. Through the mail I received a Christian Science Sentinel, with a page turned down, marking a testimony which told of a healing of cancer, the very thing I had been thirsting for! That testimony brought hope and comfort. My only desire was to be healed of this dread complaint, as that woman had been healed. I got help from a practitioner, and bought a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

After four days of persistent study of the chapter on Prayer, the words "God is Love," on page 2, were illumined. My consciousness was so filled with joy and gratitude that I danced around the room shouting, "I am healed!" The members of my family hastening in found me quite healed, and praising God. My former doctor called on me seven months later. He was astounded at my condition, and exclaimed, "You are a marvel!" My healing was complete. Over twenty years have passed and there has been no trace of the trouble. Christian Science has been my only help since this healing, and it has never failed me.

I am grateful to God for my healing. I am grateful also for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and for class instruction. My only desire is to press forward in the footsteps of our loving Leader.—(Mrs.) Janet Lawther, Petersham, New South Wales, Australia.
