For some years before learning of Christian Science I...

For some years before learning of Christian Science I was suffering from what the doctors termed a torn ligament in one of my shoulders, which caused me great inconvenience in using the arm. As there did not seem to be any help for this condition, I had become rather resigned, supposing I should always have to manage with it the best I could. Soon after taking up the study of Christian Science I asked a practitioner for help on the problem. After a time the error was uncovered, and I was led to see that I was holding resentment toward one who I believed had injured me. As the truth dawned on my consciousness that man as the idea of God could never injure or be injured, the error was destroyed, and a beautiful healing resulted. This was more than five years ago, and the healing is permanent. There have been many other beautiful demonstrations as an understanding of Truth has been gained and applied; but above all I am grateful for the peace that comes through the understanding of man's at-one-ment with God, divine Love, through which we are able to help all mankind.

Words fail to express my gratitude to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her undaunted courage and steadfastness, and for the periodicals, which are so many channels for Love's messages to reach the receptive thought. I am also grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church.
