"The man Christ Jesus"

So tenderly he loved: he took a child

And placed him in the midst, for such he said

Were of the kingdom. Oh, how well he knew!

Such courage he possessed that he rebuked The money changers' greed. He firmly trod The deep, unfathomed furrow of the sea.

Such understanding did he manifest,

The cultured and illiterate who sought

Could grasp his meaning and perceive the truth.

So utterly compassionate he was,

The woman of the streets he raised from sin;

He fed the hungry ones upon the mount.

So tenderly he loved: upon the cross,

Forsaken and in agony, he cried,

"Forgive them; for they know not what they do."
