Item of Interest

The Reading Room of The Mother Church which has for six years been located at 206 Massachusetts Avenue will remove about February 1 to a location at the south corner of Norway Street and Massachusetts Avenue, about half a block from its present location. Its new address will be 60 Norway Street, and the entrance to it will be almost directly opposite the main entrance of the new Publishing House. The reconstruction of the building at 60 Norway Street, until now used for business purposes, is being supervised by the architect of the new Publishing House, Mr. Chester Lindsay Churchill. The Maintenance Department of The Mother Church is undertaking the entire renovation.

The floor space in the new Reading Room will be somewhat larger than that in the present quarters. At the corner of Norway and Massachusetts Avenue there will be display windows which will show Mrs. Eddy's works and the publications of The Christian Science Publishing Society. Such exhibits have served very effectually in bringing Christian Science literature to the attention of many passers-by on busy Massachusetts Avenue. Some who have only a casual interest stop to examine the display of our Leader's works, the current issues of the Christian Science periodicals, the Quarterly open to the Lesson-Sermon of the week, the biographies of Mrs. Eddy, or the Christian Science Hymnal. Christian Science Reading Rooms which are favorably located on the street floor of a building on a thoroughfare have generally benefited by such a window display.
