I first began the study of Christian Science about six years ago. At that time I became very ill and had a high temperature. My mother had experienced a remarkable healing of fistula by reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and when she saw the condition I was in she asked whether I preferred help from a Christian Science practitioner or a doctor. I decided to have a practitioner, and as a result of her work was greatly improved. On the following Sunday, when attending the services in a near-by Christian Science church, I was entirely healed while singing the words of Mrs. Eddy's hymn "Mother's Evening Prayer" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 389; Poems, pp. 4, 5). Shortly after this I began to attend the Sunday school, and as a result of the teaching received there was able to lay aside glasses. I have never had occasion to use them again.
Healings of criticism, impatience, and self-pity have been experienced in a degree through Christian Science; and in one instance the realization by a member of our family that man's rightful place is not dependent on any geographical location but where he can best serve God, resulted in an adjustment that proved most desirable.
I can never be greateful enough for Christian Science, as revealed to Mrs. Eddy; for the loving help of practitioners; and for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church. — (Miss) Alice B. Logan, Chicago, Illinois.
