I am grateful for Christian Science, for through it I have been healed of untold suffering. I should like to tell of a healing I experienced. Very suddenly one night I was taken with inflammatory rheumatism in my left knee, which was very sore and painful, and I was confined to my bed. I sent across the street for my neighbor, who is a Christian Scientist. When she came I told her I must have help, and that I wanted a Christian Science practitioner, so she wired to one at once.
My healing was slow, for at times error seemed stubborn. During two months or longer I was helpless, for the knee and leg stiffened and drew up so that I could not put my foot to the floor, nor walk a step. In fact the relatives with whom I was staying believed I should never walk. There was great opposition to Christian Science in the family, and they wanted to summon a physician. The suffering was intense, and I carried a high temperature for several days. I used no material healing agency whatever, but depended absolutely on God, the great Healer. I am indeed grateful that I was completely healed and restored to my normal condition of health by absent treatment in Christian Science.
From this experience I learned a great lesson: that there is no opposition to God and His law, no reversal of His power to heal; that He is the same yesterday, to-day, and forever.
