I began the study of Christian Science during the summer...
I began the study of Christian Science during the summer of 1914. Since then there have been more healings in our home than can well be enumerated. At the age of three my son was healed of constipation, and I was also healed of the same ailment, which was considered hereditary. These healings have been permanent.
Some years ago we went on a midwinter vacation trip. Before starting, and during the trip, my son complained of a sore thumb. I wrote to a Christian Science practitioner for help after our arrivel home; for it continued to grow worse, and blood poisoning had set in and spread to the shoulder and face. In a short time the healing took place, leaving the face without a blemish. At another time, while running in the dark, my son tripped over a wire and fell with his weight on his arm. A doctor examined the injured arm, and found no bones broken. He was very kind and considerate, but spoke of the probable necessity of carrying weights to straighten the arm later. He put the arm in a sling; but the sling was removed as we wished to rely wholly upon Truth, and a perfect healing resulted.
For the Christian Science periodicals, which help to keep us rejoicing, I am very grateful. To Mrs. Eddy for her consecration to Truth, and to the practitioner who has helped us so effectively, I wish to express my sincere gratitude.
