Such statements as those appended by the editors to my letter in your issue of the 21st inst., while they no doubt represent the personal views or human opinions of those responsible for them, nevertheless greatly err in their reference to Christian Science and its practice.

It is stated that Christian Science has healing works to its credit but is responsible for much needless suffering. This mistaken view of Christian Science would imply a contradiction of the Apostle James when he stated that no fountain could yield both "salt water and fresh."

Jesus' attitude towards disease is clearly shown in the case of the woman healed of an infirmity of eighteen years' standing. He referred to her as one "whom Satan hath bound." At no time did our Master, Christ Jesus, make a reality of sin, suffering, and death. On the contrary, he overcame these errors on the basis of their unreality and in demonstration of the allness of God, good.
