In Ezekiel 18:32 we read, "For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye." Christian Scientists accept without reservation the statement made by Christ Jesus: "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly," as well as the statement by Paul, "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." Mrs. Eddy's words on page 426 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" are in accord with the Scriptural texts quoted, "Sin brought death, and death will disappear with the disappearance of sin."

Many men and women, before they became students of Christian Science, were tired of the burdens of the so-called material world, expressed in pain and error. After searching without success for health and peace of mind in the labyrinth of worldly methods, they found health and peace in Christian Science. Their thoughts, spiritualized with a better understanding of God, have given them such a new concept of creation that the errors which had caused them to "lie down" in bondage to so-called matter have been overcome sufficiently to enable them to live more useful lives. Christian Science teaches that there is only one way to obtain permanent health and peace of mind, and that is through an understanding of the laws of God and obedience thereto.

Mrs. Eddy's revelation to this age has enabled the followers of the Christianity taught by Christ Jesus truly to know that it is God "who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." She teaches that mankind must overcome sin, and that when sin has been completely overcome the state of perfection will have been reached which was demanded by Christ Jesus in these words: "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Then these words of Jesus will have been fulfilled: "If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death."
