An increased sense of gratitude for Christian Science and...
An increased sense of gratitude for Christian Science and its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, comes to me as I think of the opportunities she has given us through the Sentinel, the Journal, and the Wednesday evening testimony meetings to tell of the power of Truth which we have proved in our experience.
For over fifteen years Christian Science has ministered to my needs to the extent that I have applied divine Principle to my problems. For six years prior to my acceptance of Christian Science I suffered continually from lumbago, which was instantaneously healed by using the little knowledge of Truth I had gained during my early study of Science. Glasses, which I had worn for astigmatism for about five years, were laid aside as a better understanding of God came into consciousness. Profanity and a most irritable disposition passed away without any effort other than a great desire to know more about God.
Grief occasioned by the loss of an infant son has been healed through the knowledge that divine Mind's creation is complete, and that His ideas are ever in their right place. My wife and I found comfort in this passage on page 557 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy: "Divine Science rolls back the clouds of error with the light of Truth, and lifts the curtain on man as never born and as never dying, but as coexistent with his creator."
