With deep gratitude for Christian Science and for the...
With deep gratitude for Christian Science and for the loving work of a practitioner, I write this testimony about the birth of my baby girl. I confess when I first decided to try Christian Science I was afraid of childbirth. But I shall never forget the uplifting I felt when I was told to read on page 557 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" the words of Mrs. Eddy, "Mind controls the birth-throes in the lower realms of nature;" and also her statement (ibid.) that "human propagation has its suffering because it is a false belief."
Before the baby came I fell halfway down the basement stairs, landing on the cement floor. I immediately called the practitioner and she worked for me. I went into the living room and read out of Science and Health. In about five minutes all pain and fear had left me. During the hot summer months I had trouble in walking. When I visited the practitioner I told her about it and she worked for me while I was there. On my way home I completely forgot about it and walked naturally. After reaching home it came to me how easy it had been to walk, and then I knew I had been healed before I left her home. The night the birth took place the practitioner sat beside my bed and talked to me, and I shall never forget the calm feeling of peace and protection that I experienced. I can truthfully say that I experienced little or no pain. I shall always be thankful for this demonstration.
I am so grateful for all that Christian Science has done for me and is doing for the world. My deepest desire is to be a really good Christian Scientist.
