New President of The Mother Church

Duncan Sinclair, C.S.B., B. Sc., graduated at St. Andrew's University, Scotland, as Bachelor of Science. He afterwards lectured on Metallurgy, and for many years was head of the science department of the Glasgow Academy, until he resigned to devote himself entirely to the practice of Christian Science.

New Members of the Board of Lectureship

Miss M. Ethel Whitcomb, C. S. B., was born and educated in Boston. While in school she became interested in Christian Science through a healing which she received. She has been a member of The Mother Church since 1896, and has been engaged in the practice of Christian Science for more than thirty years. Miss Whitcomb was a member of the Primary Class of the Board of Education held in December, 1903, and of the Normal Class in 1922, when she became a teacher of Christian Science. She served as Second Reader of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, when it was organized in 1898, and was elected Second Reader of The Mother Church in 1926, serving the regular three-year period.

Ralph B. Scholfield, C.S., is a native of England. His family has been interested in Christian Science for more than thirty years, and in his youth, while a student at Eton College, he was healed through Christian Science of a serious illness. A few years thereafter he took up the study of this subject in earnest.

After completing his education, Mr. Scholfield was employed in the well-known corporation of Lloyds, and he first began the practice of Christian Science while still in business. During the war he served in a British Infantry Regiment in Belgium and France, attaining the rank of Captain. In First Church of Christ, Scientist, London, of which Mr. Scholfield has been a member since 1907, he has filled many positions, including that of First Reader and Chairman of its board. After peace was declared, in 1919 Mr. Scholfield devoted his entire time to the practice of Christian Science healing.
