[Written for the Sentinel]
Love is Nigh
I know
no darkness if the light of Love
Illumines me;
I am not fearful what the years shall prove
When I can see,
Reigning beyond this present sense of wrong
The eternal right,
As certainly as I await each morn
After the night.
I am not anxious when remembering
His will is done:
Triumphant good, creation, each good thing
For everyone;
There is no distance, separation, death,
For they and I
Live, move, and find our being in Love's breath—
And Love is nigh.
