Eight years ago our boy of three years was healed of a severe bowel trouble by Christian Science treatment. Up to this time we had used many material remedies to help him. Finally we asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. For five days the child did not seem any better and was feverish. During this time, however, our fear was destroyed. The healing took place, and has been permanent.

Many times our experiences have seemed like a "fiery furnace," but they have purified and strengthened us. At one time there came to me a trial that seemed more than I could bear, and all was dark and hopeless. During the struggle with material sense testimony, the patience and love expressed by practitioners and those around me were so great that I shall be eternally grateful to them. Many times the fact that "God is" was my only comfort, but gradually the truth became more real to me than the suggestions of error and sickness. The healing was slow, but I can joyfully say that it has brought a priceless understanding of God and His perfect creation, and is truly a rod to lean upon. Many lessons had to be learned, and many times discouragement wanted me to listen to its appeal; but with the patient help of a practitioner I was shown how to be more loving, obedient, and grateful. For the desire to understand the truth I am most grateful.

Our children have had many healings, quickly and without any after effects, of chicken pox, ringworm, convulsions, measles, and other ills; and for all of these healings we are very grateful. My husband was healed seven years ago of the smoking habit of many years' standing, and this has also been a permanent healing. For these and the great blessings that all who study the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy are receiving, I am sincerely thankful.

It is with joy and gratitude that I verify my wife's testimony. Seven years ago I had an instantaneous healing of the tobacco habit, and since then the desire has never returned. For this and many other healings I am very grateful for Christian Science. I am also grateful for membership in a branch church and in The Mother Church.
