How often the student of Christian Science is influenced...

How often the student of Christian Science is influenced by the spoken word of Truth! By clinging to that word and pondering its significance, healing has often resulted, whether the problem was one of sin, sickness, or lack.

Several years ago, when young in the study of Christian Science, I was invited to a luncheon by some Christian Scientists, but hesitated to accept because of severe bronchitis from which I suffered every winter. I was persuaded to go, however; and when it was discovered that I could not speak above a whisper, one of the party said good-naturedly, "She thinks she has something to heal." Throughout the meal that sentence was pondered, but at first vaguely. Then came the unfoldment in thought, that if there was but the one creation and that creation was of God, good, and man was the likeness of God, man could not be diseased or inharmonious in any way. Healing resulted, and the trouble has never returned.

I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing, but because of a dear sister who was healed of a condition which physicians said could be cured only by an operation. Through this sister's influence I received my first healing, which was instantaneous, of a badly sprained ankle. The practitioner to whom I went for help, after talking to me lovingly, said that I need not come again for that complaint. I experienced a feeling of disappointment, doubt, and resentment because I had expected many treatments. However, I thought afterwards over her loving words, at the same time wondering how I could finish my journey without assistance, so severe was the pain. Later, when I stepped from the car, my foot was normal and I had forgotten the distress. Many healings have taken place in our family, physically, mentally, and financially. Lost articles have been found and protection from accidents has been experienced.
