In the summer of 1914 Christian Science was brought to my home, and although I did not seem to need it for physical healing I felt that it was the religion I had long been looking for. Before I had read through the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I found I was reading without glasses which I had worn eight years for a bad case of astigmatism; and I was also healed of chronic constipation and nervous headaches. This proved to me that other troubles could be healed through this blessed truth, and I was most grateful and happy.
The following summer I lost nearly everything dear to me; but thanks to Mrs. Eddy, I knew where to go for consolation. This grief sent me to the nearest practitioner, who lived ten miles away, and who lovingly gave me uplifting thoughts and help. I am indeed grateful.
While studying Christian Science I was healed of a sprained ankle, not having to give up my usual activity except on the night after it happened. A severe cut on three fingers was healed perfectly in a couple of weeks. With the help of practitioners I have been healed of constant colds every winter; of a severe sprain of the right arm and shoulder caused by a fall. A case with all the symptoms of pneumonia was overcome in one night; and I have had instantaneous healings of neuritis and ptomaine poisoning.
