It was not on account of physical healing that I became interested in Christian Science: I was seeking for the truth which Jesus tells us "shall make you free." After attending many different religious services and studying numerous books on religion, I was led to Christian Science. Through studying "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy in connection with the Bible, I found it was indeed a "key" to the Scriptures. I realized I had found God and a new life, as this truth was setting me free and bringing peace and happiness.
Our children have depended entirely on Christian Science help. I have seen whooping cough, measles, chicken pox, colds, injuries, influenza, and a broken bone healed in a very short time.
Some time ago I had a large carbuncle on my head. My sufferings were intense, but I clung steadfastly to God and His perfect idea, and had treatment from a faithful practitioner. In this testing time I made use of all the understanding I had gained by the study of Christian Science. My head is perfectly healed, and I have a thick growth of hair all over it. The problem of lack was overcome at the same time. My husband remained at home with me during my illness and constantly cared for me. He received no salary, and we had no bank account; but we looked to God for every need and, in the words of the hymn, we did not look in vain.
