Hojskolebladet

My attention has been called to a copy of Hojskolebladet which contains some quite inaccurate statements about Christian Science; so, to prevent your readers retaining a wrong impression of this subject I beg you kindly to accept the following:

Christian Science is a religious teaching based upon the Bible, and especially upon the words and works of Jesus. Thus it is Christian; and it is scientific because the truth it reveals can be proved through demonstration. At present Christian Science is most widely known by its healing of sickness. Everywhere in her works, however, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, emphasizes purification from sin as the highest objective of Christian Science.

Mrs. Eddy's principal work, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," was published in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A., in 1875. This book contains a complete and explicit statement of Christian Science, "the scientific system of divine healing," as Mrs. Eddy expresses it (Science and Health, p. 123).
