At the age of twenty-three I was weary and heavy-laden with the cares of a home and motherhood. I loved God, and longed to know Him in a better way; but I went to many churches and various meetings only to be disappointed. One evening a neighbor asked me to go to a Christian Science testimony meeting with her. I shall never forget the testimonies. The following Sunday I went to church. The subject of the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly was "Love." I had never heard of divine Love, but I knew it was what I had long looked and hoped for. The cares of our home grew lighter, the children healthier and happier; bilious attacks of many years' standing were healed in one treatment for me; and many so-called children's diseases were healed for the little ones.

One evening when we were away from home, I felt a great sense of fear for our home. I wanted to hurry back to it, but the thought came to me, Why, God is ever present, and can care for your home with you away as well as if you were there! Then a flood of peace filled my thought, and I did not think of my home again that evening. On our way back, a neighbor told us that a man had been seen going into our yard and had not come out again. I felt no fear—just that warm feeling of peace and trust. We went into the house, turned on all the lights, and found everything in order. The screen had been taken off a small window and we found it about ten feet away from the house in a bed of dahlias. The plants were broken and the fence bent as if someone had tried to get away hurriedly. This was a wonderful proof to me of the ever present power of divine Love to protect us.

All though the past twenty years we have felt the healing power of divine Love over sorrow, loss, and misjudgment, through clinging to God as our great and only physician. We grow to the true realization of the love of God and of His Son, Christ Jesus, also of the unselfish love of our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, in working to unfold the truth to this age. I wish every mother could see and accept this glorious truth as taught in Christian Science. Truly we are blessed beyond measure. The Christian Science periodicals are a constant source of joy and help in our home. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church, as well as in a branch church.
