I have received so many blessings from Christian Science...
I have received so many blessings from Christian Science that I feel it my duty to tell others of the happiness it has given me. My first knowledge of Christian Science was derived from reading a book dealing with arguments against it. However, later, a son received a severe injury to his knee which did not respond to material treatment and became very painful. At this time my attention was called to Christian Science by a friend who had received a wonderful healing, and this helped to remove the prejudice I was holding. On account of the fear held by the boy toward the doctors, he consented to have Christian Science treatment. Results were realized from the first treatment, and we soon found that the boy was healed.
We then purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and began to study with intense interest. It was not long before my resentment against Mrs. Eddy had gone, as well as headaches from which I had suffered for years. All this occurred fourteen years ago, and my gratitude for these manifestations of God's love is boundless. Late in 1927, however, a severe ailment manifested itself and rendered me entirely helpless. My husband desired to have a physician consulted, and I consented. An immediate operation was advised, and I had nearly consented when the "still small voice" spoke to me; as a result, a letter to a dear friend, a practitioner, was soon mailed, asking for help. Two days later relief came; but there was much fear to be overcome, for healing seemed too wonderful to expect and almost impossible. The practitioner continued her work and wrote letters to me until I was entirely free ; and I am now able to perform all my duties.
Not long ago I experienced God's protecting care over His children when I extinguished, without a burn, the flames from a gasoline lamp, when at first it seemed impossible to accomplish this. God, divine Love, was very near me, and my gratitude can hardly be expressed in words. For the wisdom and spiritual attainments of our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I am very grateful, and trust that my gratitude may be shown by faithful service to God.
