With a grateful heart I wish to acknowledge the many...

With a grateful heart I wish to acknowledge the many blessings that have come to me through the study and practice of Christian Science. For a long time I did not seem to grasp the truths contained in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, but through patient and diligent study the light gradually dawned, and when it became apparent to me that I must put into practice what I had learned, and not merely accept it as a theory, my understanding increased.

One incident I should like to mention. One day when I was alone in a place where I was unable to reach a practitioner quickly, I was seized with a pain in my back so severe that I was scarcely able to move and could not straighten myself. My fear was very great. I cried out to God, and the answer came in the words of two Bible verses: "God hath not given us the spirit of fear," and, "God hath made man upright." As the truths contained in these statements flashed into my thought, the pain vanished instantly and complete healing was realized.

In our family, I have seen defective eyesight, anæmia, sprained ankle, and many other discords healed through the power of Truth as revealed in Christian Science. For these, and many other blessings, I am more grateful than words can express.—(Mrs.) Ida L. Plummer, Los Angeles, California.
