While Christian Scientists were not mentioned by name...

While Christian Scientists were not mentioned by name in your recent report of a sermon on the healing of a leper by the Master, it is evident that it is they who were alluded to. As the pastor's remarks misrepresent Christian Science, this letter is respectfully submitted in correction.

Christian Scientists are not "modern occult devotees," as one may learn through even superficially examining their teachings, which conform in every particular to the precepts and practice of Christ Jesus.

There is nothing occult, devious, or supernatural in Christian Science; hence its students do not dwell in a "dream world of abstraction," as intimated in the sermon in question.
