It is with a heart full of gratitude for the understanding of God gained through Christian Science that I give this testimony. I have had many wonderful proofs that Christian Science is indeed the Comforter. It leads us on to understand the truth that Jesus said would make us free, and this understanding brings with it the promised healing.

My first healing in Christian Science was so wonderful that it became the bugle call to almost every member of the family. I was healed of an open wound on the leg caused by the breaking of a varicose ulcer. This, together with an extremely nervous condition, apparently made my case hopeless so far as materia medica was concerned. The physician said he could do no more for me. My husband, having heard of a healing through Christian Science that impressed him very much, decided to try it for me as a last resort. Three weeks from the time I had my first treatment I was healed and attending the Christian Science church services. At the same time I was healed of an internal condition of twenty years' standing for which I had been obliged to have medical attention every few weeks, and for which sixteen physicians had proposed a surgical operation as the only means of relief. Very shortly after this experience, the mental and physical condition of our family became regenerated as the result of the new understanding of God and of man's relation to Him gained through Christian Science. Members of the family were healed of severe diseases, and our finances, which had been almost exhausted as a result of illness in the family, began to reflect our newborn understanding of God as the source of supply.

A few years ago I was healed of a severe case of general septic poisoning in the right hand and arm. I knew where my help lay. I did not doubt, and with the faithful help of a loving practitioner I was healed. The hand had become three times its normal size. One night, when the "enemy" seemed very near, a dear daughter and the practitioner held to the truth as taught in Christian Science all through the night, my daughter constantly reading from our precious textbook. In the morning the hand opened in three places. To-day it is as useful as ever. I should also like to tell of how through the realization of the truth that, as God's likeness, man is spiritual, not material, nor burdened with care and hardship, conditions changed almost instantly from discord to harmony. The change involved the sale of properties which had seemed a burden to me, and for which there seemed to be no market. I experienced what Mrs. Eddy means when she says on page 14 of Science and Health, "Entirely separate from the belief and dream of materiel living, is the Life divine."
