[Original testimony in German]
I should like to speak of the blessings which have come...
I should like to speak of the blessings which have come to me in Christian Science, but so abundant and manifold have they been that I scarcely know where to begin or what to relate.
I heard of Christian Science for the first time eighteen years ago through a lady who was visiting in our home, but I did not turn to it at once. Soon afterwards I was taken with a severe attack of bronchitis and felt obliged to consult a doctor, who said that I should be laid up for at least three weeks. At the same time, however, I wrote for help to the lady already mentioned, who was living in another town, and who had spoken to me about her healing in Christian Science, with the result that through her explanations of Christian Science in four days my condition had so improved that I could return to work. Since that time I have been faithful to Christian Science; and as an adherent, and later on as a member of the Christian Science church, I have enjoyed its blessings in full measure. Through it my faith has become firmer. To it I owe a right understanding of God, which helps me in every emergency. The years embracing the war and its effects were not without struggles and relapses; at times these were so severe that I thought I should succumb. However, with the strength which Christian Science gives, and with the loving help of others that is available, "struggling and striving until the light is found," I came through victorious.
Besides mental harmony I now enjoy great physical vigor, which enables me, at over seventy-three years of age, to swim and to take an active part in gymnastics.
