Referring to a recent editorial in the Ledger on the subject of "Jewish Science":

In fairness to Christian Scientists I think you should make it clear to your readers that the organization calling itself "Jewish Science" has no connection whatever with the Christian Science movement. We are not familiar with its teachings, and it receives no support from Christian Scientists. There is only one genuine Christian Science organization in existence, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, which was established by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science and the author of its textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."

Your editorial would seem to infer that there is some similarity between Christian Science and spiritualism or Coueism; whereas, as a matter of fact, the teachings of Christian Science are utterly contrary to both. I would further state that the use of formulas in either the teaching or practice of Christian Science is absolutely forbidden by the rules of the Christian Science church; and this also applies to the use of suggestion and hypnotism.

You state in your editorial that "the acquisition of health and happiness requires work and not a mere affirmation; it requires the living in harmonious relationship to God's laws; it requires self-assertions, self-exertions, and self-restraints, and not the mere mumbling of some empty phrases and meaningless words"—and this statement is in accord with the teachings of Christian Science.
