I should like to express my gratitude for the innumerable...

I should like to express my gratitude for the innumerable blessings which have come to me and to my family through the study of Christian Science. I am especially grateful for the following healing, which is only one of many others which I am also grateful for.

One afternoon, about seven years ago, when at the top of a ten-foot ladder, it slipped from under me and I fell to the floor. There was no one with me at the time, and when I regained consciousness I was lying with my back on the sharp edge of the ladder and suffering great pain. The first thought that came to me was contained in a few words from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 113) which read, "There is no pain in Truth, and no truth in pain." I was not able to talk, but I repeated these words to myself over and over again. In a little while I was able to get up and go to the telephone. I called my wife and asked her to send someone for me, telling her of the accident, also asking her to help me. She immediately sent someone for me, and at the same time went to work knowing the truth. At nine o'clock I was still suffering great pain, so a practitioner was called, and within an hour I had fallen asleep. I woke up several times during the night, but always was able to go back to sleep again. I stayed at home for three days, and for two weeks I had to have an assistant; but after that I was able to do my work alone without any after effects.

For this and many other healings which we have had in our family, I am deeply grateful. I also am grateful for the dear practitioner who helped me so lovingly.
