About sixteen years ago I seemed to be in very bad health and my husband took me to a doctor, who said, "I can relieve her;" and I wondered why he did not say "cure." I took his medicine, but without results. Not so very long afterwards a friend told my mother about Christian Science; and I remember she seemed happy to tell me that she had found the very thing for me. She said, "They say that God is Love, and that it will make you well and happy." That was what I wanted; so, leaving my husband and baby for a few days, I went to a practitioner, who most lovingly gave me of that true bread which comes down from heaven. Though I was not completely healed in those few days, I am very grateful that I had the truth to take back to my loved ones. I have since been healed of different ailments, for which I am most grateful. At one time I was so weak I was not able to do my work, and could not walk very far without distress; but with the help of a practitioner, who patiently lifted my thoughts from self to things spiritual, I was healed.

We have had proofs of God's care with the children. They have never taken medicine. While staying a few weeks with my mother, I was busy in the house when I heard a cry, and then my mother called, "Know the truth." I stood still and all I seemed to be able to think was, "No accidents ever occur in divine Mind." I soon learned that the baby had fallen from the porch to the cement walk on her face and my mother thought she was badly hurt; but there was scarcely a mark, and it was soon forgotten.

I am grateful for Love's protection when I was thrown from a horse and was unconscious for several hours. A neighbor who was with me said he could not tell that I was breathing at all. As soon as my husband got to me he telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner. This occurred in the morning, and by evening I was able to go home.
