Signs of the Times

[Rev. Ray C. Krug, as quoted in the Tribune, Oakland, California]

The world's best seller [the Bible] is a love story. ... Thirty million copies of this story were printed last year, and it can be read in eight hundred and fifty different languages and dialects. This book is the world's best seller because it tells the greatest message that man ever heard. That message is that "God is love." The heart of religion is not fear, though fear of punishment may turn a man to God. Love is the song that heaven and earth are singing in unison, love based upon righteousness. "Search the scriptures," is the command of the one whose life-story is told therein. Like miners who go deep into the heart of the earth for precious gold, man must delve deep into the depths of the world's greatest book if he would find the bread of life for his soul.
