I am happy to be able to bear testimony to a healing...
I am happy to be able to bear testimony to a healing obtained through Christian Science. Some time ago, when busy with household duties, I had a pan of butter on the fire. Suddenly a piece of boiling grease flew out and struck my left eye, producing a spot of white on the lens. In spite of the pain I immediately began to deny the error, and strove mentally to realize the truth.
In the evening I decided to have a practitioner help me meet and overcome this error. She did so with much love and consecration. Among other things she read me the article entitled "Perception" published in Le Héraut of July, 1927, which was particularly appropriate to my need. This reading, as well as the practitioner's work, brought calm again, and fear left me. I returned home and went to bed, all the while pondering and striving to understand that true, indestructible sight is spiritual. A sentence from page 1 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, held my attention: "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love." The next day on waking I saw that my sight had become normal, and that every trace of a spot or burning had completely disappeared.
With all my heart I thank God, also Mrs. Eddy for her wonderful revelation of Christian Science, and the practitioner who helped me with great love and faithfulness.
