I had known of Christian Science for several years when I was afflicted with a serious throat condition. I had Christian Science help then, but received only temporary relief; I became discouraged and went to a throat specialist for an examination. This specialist said that an immediate operation was necessary, or I could not live much longer. The fear occasioned by this verdict was so great that I decided to submit to the operation. What I thought was going to be one operation turned out to be one after another, until after a period of two years some of the best-known throat specialists said they could do nothing more for me.
After drifting for a time, I again turned to Christian Science for relief; and although I often became discouraged, I realized there was nothing else for me. However, when the time came that I felt I wanted to know more about God, regardless of whether or not I received the physical healing, improvement began and continued until the healing finally took place. Although this healing was very slow, during the period I received other healings instantaneously. With the help of a loving practitioner I was able also to complete a course in a secretarial school, and later accepted a position which I held and enjoyed up to the time of my marriage two and a half years later.
I owe everything to Christian Science. It helped me before I was married, and now both my husband and I turn to it in our every need. I wish to express gratitude for the loving practitioners who through their consecration to good are able to help us in our journey from sense to Soul. My little understanding of Christian Science means much to me.
