I am indeed grateful for the priceless gift of Christian Science

I am indeed grateful for the priceless gift of Christian Science. It has proved its inestimable worth to me, and mere human language cannot do it justice. I did not take up the study of this Science for physical healing, but because I recognized it as a logical and demonstrable religion which satisfied my spiritual longings as no other religion could do; for Christian Science is the Science of Life, as taught and practiced by the master Christian, Christ Jesus.

It was not long, however, before the truth was applied to physical ailments; and during the eighteen years of my study of this most wonderful teaching I have experienced perfect healing of pneumonia, rheumatism, influenza which very painfully affected the heart, sick headache, an infected finger, as well as numerous other ailments. Sometimes a healing was accomplished with the aid of loving practitiones, and at other times by my own honest, earnest efforts. Christian Science is daily helping me to love good and to do unto others as I would have them do unto me; and it has given me a sure trust and confidence, instead of doubt and fear; it has given me joy for sorrow, and has truly turned my mourning into praise.

In "Rudimental Divine Science" (p. 1) Mrs. Eddy defines Christian Science as "the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony." Through her obedience to this law, and through her God-inspired thought, she was able to write and give to the world the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," together with her other writings. She founded The Mother Church on a firm foundation, and gave us the Church Manual, which to a Christian Scientist is as a compass to a mariner on a stormy sea, and I am grateful to her. I am grateful to God for His wonderful goodness to the children of men, and to Christ Jesus, our Way-shower. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for the privilege of class instruction; and I am deeply grateful for the authorized literature, which is bringing the message of salvation to all mankind.
