I am grateful to have the opportunity to express my gratitude to God, the Giver of all good, for Christian Science. Over three years ago, in a time of great need, when all looked dark and hopeless, Christian Science awoke me, with the words of the prophet Isaiah, "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee." Christian Science revealed to me the Father-Mother God, good, the only Mind and intelligence, and that man in His image and likeness reflects this Mind, the Mind that "was also in Christ Jesus." I realized that the sickness, fear, and sin with which I had been afflicted was the work of the carnal mind, which "is enmity against God," good, and of which our great Master, Christ Jesus, said, "He was a murderer from the beginning, ... a liar, and the father of it," and, "there is no truth in him." Through the study and application of Christian Science I am becoming conscious of the all-power of God, good. Christ Jesus said, "If ye continue in my word, ... ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." And it is this knowing that is setting me free. I am now enjoying peace and happiness. It is my daily desire to know more about God and man, and to share this blessed truth with all mankind.
One of the many healings for which I am grateful is the disappearance of pain from my head, caused by fear. As the woman whom Jesus said, "Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years," so I also was bound for many years until the realization came that God, good, is all-harmonious and that man in His image and likeness cannot be enslaved by material sense. This understanding silenced the fear and removed the pain, and I was healed. Although this healing came slowly, yet I was grateful; for it led me to a more diligent study of the Bible and of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
