The understanding of the truth brought to us by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, is indeed a wonderful blessing.

I have been healed of sickness and sin. Many years ago I was greatly troubled with chronic indigestion. I was then living in Chicago, and having tried numerous physician and medicines I turned to Christian Science and was completely healed through absent treatment from a practitioner in New York City. I have been healed of epilepsy from which I suffered for many years, and of sciatic rheumatism from which I had suffered for over three months. During this time I could scarcely move, and during one period there was no action of the bowels for two weeks. But reliance on God proved that the truth is ever powerful. I was a heavy smoker for more than forty years and tried to break this habit through willpower, without avail; but the truth destroyed the desire at once, so that I could scarcely believe what had been done. I have never experienced the slightest wish for the noxious weed since: that was several years ago.

I used to wish that I might be according the privilege to help activity in the church, and this blessing was granted me as a Reader. I am indeed very grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the work she has done, which has shown me the straight and narrow pathway to God and health and happiness.
