Although I had heard of Christian Science many times,...

Although I had heard of Christian Science many times, I first thought seriously of it at a time when I had been convalescing for a number of months and heard of a neighbor's many healings and experiences. A Christian Science Sentinel was given to me, and although at the time I was unable to do any of my work or walk more than half a block at a time, I was instantaneously healed after reading it from cover to cover. This was indeed the "spiritual meeting with our Lord in the dawn of a new light," and was "the morning meal" of which Mrs. Eddy speaks in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 35). After this beautiful healing I called on a practitioner to learn about Christian Science, and was asked to borrow or purchase the textbook. After purchasing this book, and reading it through, I was convinced I needed it.

About this time our son, then about six years of age, developed whooping cough. Although all the symptoms were present, healing took place after four treatments. Our daughter was protected from contagion. Another healing which stands out to me was that of water tumor. While this was not healed instantaneously, nevertheless it was of short duration; and I shall never forget the patience of the practitioner and the lessons learned during that time. Although an operation had been suggested a couple of times, by taking my stand, knowing that all things are possible to God and relying wholly on the truth to sustain me, it was possible to perform some of my duties and attend the services and lectures. My heart goes out to God for His great love and mercy. At another time my son, although cautioned not to go near an electric wringer, had his hand caught in it. Thanks to the ever-presence of Mind, the wringer was reversed, and although the hand appeared to be crushed as it passed between the rollers, a few minutes later the child was playing and did not remember which had it was; nor was it in the least discolored.

Another experience which has meant much to me was the clearing up of confusion and nervousness through the loving help of a practitioner. This experience showed me how to love more, so bringing right activity into operation. I am very grateful for this, as I am beginning to see more and more that it is for us to express and manifest the qualities of God. We have had many other healings, of croup, measles, fever, and other ills. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to God, to Mrs. Eddy, and to the loving practitioners, for their guidance and protection in my travel from sense to Soul.—(Mrs.) Luella M. Kremm, Chicago, Illinois.
