For the information of W.F.S., writing in your issue on May 4, I here give chapter and verse for the fact that man is made in the image and likeness of God: Genesis 1:26, 27; Colossians 3:10, 11; II Corinthians 3:18; Corinthians 4:4; Hebrews 1:3.

In the Sermon on the Mount it is quite evident that the teachings of Christ Jesus did not conform to some of the teachings of the Old Testament (see Matthew 5:21-47).

We who live some nineteen hundred years after the Apostle Paul, in looking back over the intervening centuries, can see the fulfillment of his prophecy in II Timothy 4:3, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine." It is evident that Paul foresaw that "the Spirit of truth" revealed through Christ Jesus would be lost sight of; and this was very apparent through the dark or middle ages. The spiritual light began to dawn again at the Reformation, and has steadily continued ever since. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, was spiritually minded enough to rediscover the divine Principle which underlay the teachings and works of Christ Jesus, his disciples, and the early Christians, and has given to the world her discovery in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
