In the year 1912, while I was suffering from a nervous breakdown and did not know which way to turn for relief, the thought kept coming to me to go to the Christian Science church and perhaps I would hear some comforting remarks; and I am thankful to say I was not disappointed. Soon after I asked for help from a practitioner, and while under treatment for an old difficulty I was taken suddenly ill, about two o'clock in the morning, with a severe attack of laryngitis. I read from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy for about twenty minutes, and then went to sleep again. I awoke at seven o'clock, perfectly free from fever and inflammation, but could not talk. I wrote a note asking my son to call the practitioner and tell him of my condition, and word came back that I would be able to talk when called later. At eleven o'clock, when the telephone rang, I answered and found I could talk all right. For me, this experience was a wonderful awakening. Before turning to Christian Science, when experiencing one of these attacks, I would be ill for days under the doctor's care, and without my voice for weeks at a time.
Later I was taken very ill with grippe and to mortal sense was a very sick woman. I called for help in Science and it was lovingly given. The condition seemed very serious owing to congestion of the bronchial tubes. In four hours the fever was reduced, and after three days I was able to be up and dressed. Later I was healed of neuritis in one treatment after suffering eight weeks and being unable to lift my arm up to my head.
Words fail to express my gratitude for all the blessings that have come to me, and for the healing and protection my son received before and during the late war.—(Mrs.) Rosina L. Campbell, Dorchester, Massachusetts.
