Thirteen years ago I was wretched over the condition of a twin sister, to whom I was devotedly attached. She had been ill for many years, had undergone a major operation, and had had the services of many good physicians. At last they pronounced her beyond medical aid, advising us to keep her quiet and free from worry. In this extremity she was forced to leave her home and take rooms near her husband's business. The one in charge of this home was a Christian Scientist. After a short period of time, during which my sister was practically helpless, this good friend broached the subject of Christian Science healing. My sister was indifferent and almost indignant. The friend lovingly explained that no one need be sick, and that God gives us health. The following week we both accompanied this friend to the Wednesday evening meeting. The testimonies were revealing, and I was so much impressed that on returning to my home and being asked by my husband where I had been, I made the statement that Christian Science was true. Needless to say, both my sister and I became students of Christian Science. My sister was entirely healed of chronic difficulties, and in a very few weeks took up an active life and continues to progress.

At the time I attended my first Wednesday evening meeting, I had not read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Our friend lent me "Miscellaneous Writings" by our Leader, and this I read avidly. After three weeks of this reading, my daughter was sent home from school suffering from tonsillitis, high fever, and attendant symptoms. I asked her if I should call a physician or try Christian Science. The dear one asked for Christian Science. I sat by her and applied the little I knew of the truth. Following that, I read to her from "Miscellaneous Writings," with the result that at one o'clock she returned to school perfectly healed. Her teacher was very curious, although kindly so, and said it was the most remarkable cure she had ever witnessed.

I am grateful for Mrs. Eddy, the textbook, the church services, the practitioners, and for class instruction, which unfolded to me many profound truths. I am also grateful for numerous healings, the mental ones outweighing the physical. I have been healed of vanity, love of popularity, fluency of speech tending to exaggeration, and of sorrow. Progress has not been made without great effort. It represents faithful striving, adhering to the Principle taught us, retracing many false steps, and constant prayer.-(Mrs.) Fae S.
