I wish to acknowledge what Christian Science has done...
I wish to acknowledge what Christian Science has done for me; for without its help I either would not be here, or would be a hopeless invalid. I was always sickly as a child, and became worse as I grew older. I had twelve doctors and many kinds of treatment, but never received any permanent relief. I used to read the Bible with the hope of finding some comfort, and would be quite uplifted when reading the account of the woman who touched the hem of Christ's garment and was healed. Then the thought would come, What is the use of reading that? It does not do us any good now! And then I would be in despair again. But when I prayed earnestly for enlightenment and a better understanding of God, and was not looking for health alone, I was led to Christian Science, from which I learned that God does heal our diseases now and forgives all our iniquities.
I have been healed of sick headaches, severe pain, internal trouble, paralysis of the bowels, indigestion; of tubercular trouble, influenza, abscesses in the ear, sprained ankle, pneumonia, and a mental difficulty. What I am most grateful for, however, is that "God is no respecter of persons," and that I have a better understanding of Him. I am thankful to God and to Christ Jesus; and also to Mrs. Eddy for giving us a better understanding of the Bible, and to the practitioners who have helped me.
