With great joy I add my testimony to the efficacy of Christian Science to heal sorrow and sickness and sin. For over ten years every illness and discordant condition, of whatsoever kind, with which our child and I have been confronted, has been healed by the honest application of Christian Science, as given in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and Mrs. Eddy's other writings.

Our daughter was healed of measles in about a week, although it was prophesied that all manner of evil would befall her if I did not give her the medicine prescribed. Of her own accord the child refused the medicine, saying, "I do not believe God needs any help." She was completely healed in less than three weeks of a very severe attack of inflammatory rheumatism. A few years before we took up the study of Christian Science she had a a similar attack and had medical treatment at her father's request, but she was ill for many weeks, suffering intensely, and being constantly attended by a trained nurse. Abscesses of the ears, the wearing of glasses, malnutrition, and many minor ailments have been overcome by Christian Science for this child, who has gained a richer legacy than any material possessions could give her. She attends the Christian Science Sunday School, and is able to apply Christian Science to all her school problems and in her dealings with others.

I have had many healings in Christian Science. One of them was the healing of heart disease, which had necessitated, under medical law, constant dependence upon whisky and strychnia. I wore glasses (had several pairs, all different, for various uses) for an affection of the eyes called conjunctivitis, together with astigmatism. I had had prolonged treatment from an ophthalmic specialist for this condition, which fell away from me, together with many other difficulties, when I applied myself to the consecrated study of Christian Science. To-day finds me a healthy, happy woman; and while the physical healings mean a great deal to me, and I am very grateful for them, the uplifted spiritualized and regenerated thought, which has lifted me out of an idle, shallow, pleasure-seeking, worldly life into an awakened sense of the nothingness of such a life, to find the joy of living in obedience to the great Master, means more to me.
