Having had the joy of knowing of Christian Science since 1918, I can say what a great comfort it has been to me. I had lost faith in God, and had revolted at the thought that He sent evil.

At the time of a serious epidemic of influenza at Lausanne a friend spoke to me of Christian Science; and I was attracted by this faith, so new to me. Since that day I have had painful hours, but never have I leaned on the glorious Principle, discovered by Mrs. Eddy, without having the reward of healing.

Thanks to Christian Science, my children have been able to attend school without interruption; nervousness, fever, and coughs have often been overcome almost instantaneously. Last year my eldest son sprained his foot; the next day the swelling had disappeared, and the child could walk as usual. I myself have been healed in a few days of sciatica in a severe form, and of heart trouble. But what I value even more than the physical healing is the realization that "man's extremity is God's opportunity." We have not experienced the failure which error tried to suggest to us on all sides. It makes me happy, therefore, to say how grateful I am to know the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and to thank the dear practitioners who have always given me their devoted help.
