A writer in your paper recently recommended, for the guidance of the interested inquirer about Christian Science, certain chapters by an author who in my opinion deals with the subject in an unfair manner. May I be permitted to say to your readers that if a person wishes to learn the character and teachings of any book, he should, and naturally would, read it to find out for himself. One eager to acquaint himself with the Bible should study the Bible. A hostile criticism would hinder rather than aid him in his purpose. The same may be said as to Christian Science. Let the person desiring to know about Christian Science read and study the authorized Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, and he will learn for himself what its teachings are. He can test in his own experience their soundness and practicality, just as a great number of others have done during the last half century.
