Through my people I early came to love God and the Bible, but other interests and pursuits occupied most of my time and thought. Then followed great mental trouble and unhappiness. While I was in this state of despondency my attention was drawn to Christian Science. Some of the literature and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy were placed in my hands, and I never once questioned the truth of Christian Science; I knew it was what I wanted and what I needed. I started to attend the Christian Science church and the lectures, and then called upon a practitioner for relief from an inharmonious condition in my home, which was beautifully healed. A great many falsities were overcome in my nature after learning they were but dreams of the absence of God, and that I had but to awaken to His ever-presence, His allness.

I also suffered from sick headaches supposed to have been inherited. I would be confined to my bed for hours with the trouble. I was not able to participate in any recreation without becoming so nervous that these headaches would come on, and the least bit of excitement would annoy me. I called on a practitioner for help; and while I was not healed for some time, yet through obedient study of the Bible and Science and Health, the error was finally overcome.

Another ailment which was healed through the study of Christian Science was intestinal trouble. I suffered intense pain from this for several days before it was healed. The spiritual understanding I received during this experience far outweighs the victory over the physical ill. A sense of weakness and great fatigue was also overcome; likewise, a disposition to take cold and a stomach trouble of long standing were healed. I have been helped out of all financial difficulties that have confronted me, and have always derived great benefit from the verse in Luke, "Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine." I owe all I have to-day to the study of Christian Science.
