Recently in your esteemed paper a lecture by a professor was reported in which, together with theosophy, spiritism, and Buddhism, Christian Science was mentioned as a substitute for true Christianity, and as the opposite of the genuine merchandise. But the teaching which is built up wholly on the spiritual understanding of the Bible is true Christianity; and the teaching which heals the sick by means of the same understanding which based the healings of Jesus, the teaching which to a degree fulfills his statement, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also," cannot be a substitute, but must be the genuine merchandise. This is also shown by the great rapidity with which Christian Science has spread over the earth, and by thousands of testimonies as to its healing effects. Christian Science is far removed from theosophy, spiritism, Buddhism, and rationalism.
