[Written for the Sentinel]

"Wait. and love more"*

Wait , watch, and work; in patience humbly pray;
Wait for the blessings which Love sends each day;
Watch over every thought, lest wrong creep in;
Work to know Love is All, and false is sin.

In patience pray that we know only Life,
And Truth, and Love—the Love which ends all strife;
The Truth that God is All, and we are one
With Him in perfect Life, our Light, our Sun.

Wait, watch, in sweet humility; and then,
Loving our God, love too our fellow-men.
Love more, and loving understand indeed
As Jesus did, and meet the human need.

"Wait, and love more" in spite of all that seems
To pull down what we build, destroy our dreams.
Wait, knowing our reward naught can remove,
Since Love alone is power, for God is Love.
