Christian Science has been my only physician for over eight years. All my life I had been more or less delicate and had consulted many physicians. I had tried many remedies; and though sometimes I felt relieved, I was never well. The last two doctors I saw told me that I would never be well.

My first healing was of influenza. I was also healed of chronic stomach trouble, which had seemed to be part of my lot ever since I was a small child. Both of these healings were instantaneous, and were brought about by the loving help of a member of my family. Soon after I began the study of Christian Science, through reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was able to lay aside glasses. Chronic sick headaches, from which I had suffered all my life, colds, sore throat, bladder trouble, nervousness, and fear of all kinds left me. I shall never forget the peace, joy, spiritual uplifting, and enlightened understanding of God that came to me through this reading. I was like a new person, and the world seemed very different. There was something to live for now.

I decided then and there to leave all for Christ, and to learn all I could of this wonderful truth that had made me free, in the hope that some day I might help others who were suffering as I had suffered. I went to New York with this purpose, and when I found myself alone for the first time in my life, I felt a sense of loneliness; but I turned to the Bible, my new-found friend, and as I opened it my eyes rested on these words of the Master: "Lo, I am with you alway." I felt a great sense of peace, and my healing has been permanent, for I have never felt lonely since.
