[Written for the Sentinel]
A Prayer
Oh,
let me be as glass transparent,
Through which the light of Truth may shine;
Oh, let Thy love be e'er apparent;
As I reflect that Love divine.
Let no false step make others stumble,
As in Thy path I try to move;
Help me to be divinely humble,
Help me Thy way each day to prove.
Oh, let me show Thy way to others;
For self alone I would not live;
Help me to see all men as brothers,
For others' good myself to give.
Whene'er through us Love's light is shining
No false belief can dim our light;
Our lives from dross Love is refining,
When we are conscious of the right.
