It is with heartfelt joy and boundless love I give this...
It is with heartfelt joy and boundless love I give this testimony. Christian Science came to me over ten years ago when everything seemed to be dark and dreary. Having tried everything in the way of materia medica for sore eyes, I had decided to see an eye specialist. But "man's extremity is God's opportunity."
A dear friend who knew of my case asked me to try Christian Science. She gave me a few Heralds, which were eagerly read; so with a glimpse of hope I went to a Christian Science practitioner. Relief was experienced with the first treatment, and constipation vanished also. Through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I had the pleasure and joy of going home healed of sore eyes and constipation.
A stubborn case of stomach catarrh, from which I had suffered since I was twelve years old, suddenly vanished into its native nothingness last summer without any special effort, only by reading and knowing the truth about man. Last summer I was wonderfully protected and healed when struck by lightning. I realized that the Lord is not in the lightning. For these blessings I am very grateful; also for the healing of many other ailments, such as influenza and colds. Lumbago was most beautifully overcome with the loving help of a practitioner. There have been proofs of the healing power of Christian Science, too numerous to mention. But all this is nothing in comparison to the spiritual uplift which has been mine. Although I drifted and doubted for about three years whether Christian Science was the truth or not, I was finally awakened by a trying experience about a year ago, when a dear one was laid up with a severe case of rheumatism. We again turned to Christian Science with a full realization that it is the truth.
