From early childhood I remember seeing in my family various cures tried for hereditary asthma, among which were osteopathy, electric pads, serums, sanatoriums, change of climate, and all kinds of medicine—but all to no avail. This disease seemed very real to me, and later I manifested it. I had no faith in medicine, and was led by one who had received healing through Christian Science to give it a trial. I knew nothing of this Science at the time. I only knew that in a few treatments I was healed absolutely. This healing took place eight years ago and has been permanent.
Through the study and application of the truth as we learn it in Christian Science I have overcome many of the ills which "flesh is heir to." I am grateful for the clear understanding of God our practitioners have gained that enables them to destroy all claims of sickness. I am also grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and for the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school.
I send this testimony in the hope of helping someone. As we read in one of our hymns:
